I am not at my PC right now, and I don’t reboot or power down often so I can not speak to the popping during power on. But probably only if you buy the 3. The service and support has always treated me great. I remember reading that the Asus guys did something with this board that gave it damn near the same performance as the latest boards, but without PAT.
